本期节目录制于2026年5月下旬，因一起意外事件延后近两个月播出。起因是本期访谈的嘉宾苏东，被另一位曾在乌克兰长期从事人道主义援助的中国志愿者柯义指控，参与了对其的绑架、恐吓与巨额勒索。与此同时，苏东在最近一段时间，也一直有指控柯义存在挪用慈善款项的行为。无论怎样，我认为苏东在过去的四年中，持续在乌克兰从事人道援助的经历本身是很有价值的，也非常有必要从华人视角呈现给听众，了解乌俄战争的另一面。

好久没有更新西郊密林的子栏目，往事要再提了。上次更新，是8个月前，万润南先生去世的时候。 这次更新，也同样是为了悼念一位受访者，2026年7月2日离世的香港铜锣湾书店创办人林荣基。
我和林荣基老先生的交集，仅限于25年8月中旬，那两个炙热的台北夏日午后。可即便如此，当你知道这样一个有些许熟悉的人，离开了这个世界，还是会有一种说不出的失落感。对我而言，他是我讲述香港当代故事，还有离散群体的一个重要人物，一个重要的标志，然后就这样消失了。
