Love this show! Which I had come across it when it was live but catching up now. I’ve watched this show all the way thru like 20 times but love this shows point of view and has brought new light to episodes i’ve see multiple times. The aster is beyond real!
I love this podcast so much because I love DC and Young Justice. I love getting comic histories, Easter eggs, opinions, and so much more from Rich, Caleb, Emily, and Neal they really make it so much more enjoyable to rewatch the show and catch the little things. Also love your segments in each recap episode and the secret origins. Would love to listen to more secret origins for all the characters of DC heroes and villains.
I found this through an article on DCU and it’s my new favorite thing! I loved young Justice since it came out but never talked to anyone about (13 year old girls are embarrassed for liking superheroes). Listening to others rant about their love for the show and DC, and analyze the show so in depth, has been amazing. Everyone does an amazing job and you learn so much about Young Justice, DC and so much more! I’ve never played a RPG but have learned so much about them. Thankfully I typically list... more
I knew this podcast existed for a while, but I hadn’t gotten around to it for various reasons. When part 2 of S4 of YJ started up, I decided to start listening to the episode reviews and I quickly realized how much I needed to hear other ppl nerd out about this show too because I love it to bits but none of my friends watch it. Plus it was very amusing whenever someone on the podcast would say “I’d like to see this happen” or “maybe we’ll get this” back in S1 or S2 of YJ and I’d be grinning like... more
Started watching Young Justice in 2019 when season 3 was released, and started listening to Whelmed during lockdown. Best. Decision. Ever. Loved the insights into the show from both a comics perspective and a writing perspective. Which was great as someone who didn't know that much about DC as well as someone who wanted to get into writing. I love both their episode deep dives as well as their discussion episodes. Keep doing what you're doing guys!

A deeply analytical show focused on a long-running DC animated series, with meticulous episode-by-episode breakdowns, storytelling craft, and extensive discussions of character arcs, mythology, and world-building. Recurring segments balance scene-by-scene recaps with broader writing and storytelling insights, plus interviews with actors, writers, and other creators connected to the show's universe. Notable for its welcoming, expert-host dynamic and a generous mix of episode analysis, writerly tips, and guest interviews, which together offer both fans and aspiring creators practical takeaways and rich DC lore. This mix makes it a strong fit for listeners who want both deep fandom engagement and concrete craft guidance, as well as sponsors or... more
