I think it's pretty damn great, but I created the thing so YMMV.
Fantastic show! I can’t wait for season 2, I’m so invested in the characters and need to know what’s going to happen next!
I don't usually listen to roleplaying podcasts like this but the impossibility and mystery of the premise got me to listen to the first episode of this--that and I am a fan of Wireland Ranch. Now I find myself waiting for the new episodes to release! The game mechanics make sense to me and the storytelling is tight and moves at a good pace. Interested to see where this Hammer business goes...
Right off the bat this show has an awesome hook. I’ve listened to a lot of actual play shows and made a couple myself, and this one has the strongest opening I’ve ever heard. 10/10, I’d never heard of the Cortex system before this but they are using it to the fullest extent as they tell an awesome story. Plus pulling in voice actors to voice the npcs is just a really cool move. Well done to Josh and the gang at GSD.
Sadly, there aren't many actual-plays that put in work once the session is over. This, however, is an AP that is on par with a fully produced audio drama. Clean dialog, immersive sound scape, and a plot that has you demanding to know what is next. Can't get enough.
