In an overwhelmingly Lefty comedic landscape, right-leaning stand-up Geoff Norcott is a rare beast. In WMPT he gets to the heart of what ordinary people think about social and political issues. Whatever the contentious subject – he’ll be honest and blunt, but without being a dick. Mostly. Guests come from across the social and political divide, including, Romesh Ranganathan, Jonathan Pie, Katherin... more

Simon Evans is back this week as we ponder why no-one seems especially rattled by the possibility of missiles hitting London and financial armageddon. We also look at yet more research showing white working-class boys are falling behind academically ... more
A lot to unpack from the week: Starmer avoiding questions like I avoid service stations without a Greggs, Rayner on maneouvres, Davey's dodgy dance moves and the comedy radar of Donald J Trump. I also have another rant about men getting their shirts ... more

THANKS, for the podcast, 7years (?)and this is for Norcott and for Dundee ! 5stars
Ok, so he is centre right and I am one of those woke lefty liberals who shouldn’t enjoy his political slant on the news and politics. I was wrong, it’s really excellent.
Geoff has a warm and even occasionally funny take on the news. I might not agree with some of his takes and some of his guests but I enjoy listening regardless.
Recommended.
I absolutely love this podcast, it fully dilutes the plethora of banal podcasts, the only thing that grates a bit is today’s podcast with the word “like” (Milo) I’m absolutely sure that a regional accent is cute, funny, or sometimes sets my teeth hurting. Bloody poor , lazy speech makes my teeth fall out. Wow I might have to select additional contributors. Jeff is incitetefull and funny. Thank you
I’ve listened to this podcast for many years now. I love Geoff’s approach to politics - and his views usually align with mine. Worth listening for his Keir Starmer impersonation alone!!!
Geoff Norcott must be one of the hardest working comedians in Britain. How he manages to put out these high quality broadcasts twice a week, roam around the country trying to make people laugh in his shows, and make appearances on broadcast media is beyond me. I usually require a recovery nap just going into town for a bargain coffee and back again. I digress, if you’re looking for humorous insight into British politics that cuts slightly right of centre, then Geoff’s your man. Contrary to some,... more
