In an overwhelmingly Lefty comedic landscape, right-leaning stand-up Geoff Norcott is a rare beast. In WMPT he gets to the heart of what ordinary people think about social and political issues. Whatever the contentious subject – he’ll be honest and blunt, but without being a dick. Mostly. Guests come from across the social and political divide, including, Romesh Ranganathan, Jonathan Pie, Katherin... more

The brilliant Rachel Fairburn returns and I ask how she feels about having a fellow Northerner in Number ten. We react to Burnham's big speech and whether he's secretly prepping to hammer the south. We also evaluate some of the possible choices for c... more
This episode is coming round faster than usual, but then again so is politics! A fascinating PMQs where lame duck Kier seemed to want knockabout fun but Kemi hadn't quite got the memo and delivered some withering lines about his soon to be successor.... more
Keir Starmer was good enough to announce his departure just moments before this record, so catch me and Simon Evans processing the news (even though it's been obvious for months). We discuss Keir's tear-jerker moment (Keir-jerker?) and evaluate his c... more
So Burnham did it and is coming for Keir's job... though not according to some of the strange people in Keir's bunker. Will Starmer sit tight or go gracefully? Also a good night for the Tories and a bad one for Reform (not something anyone has said i... more

Geoff’s episode around the horrendous Henry Nowak killing was so on point……
Geoff is often able to articulate the way ‘most people think’ in an intelligent and thoughtful way. This incident however, was the worst possible event to try and navigate commentary around and I feel Geoff surpassed himself. Thanks Geoff.
thought this podcast would be a bit humorous - how wrong was I
Hilarious episode this week with Lefty guest Ian Moore. Angela Rayner “should be health secretary” and “is clearly talented”. “Energy and transport should be under government control again”. Brilliant! So as well as being screwed by Net Zero, we won’t even be able to access to the bit of electricity and water we’ve got because they’ll all be on strike. Oh, my sides are hurting. More of this sort of thing please Geoff. Shine a light on the insanity that is befalling us.
Ian Moore. Terrible whiny left wing guest
Great to see you getting a call back on RFR this week in reference to the passing of actor Michael Pennington who played commander Moff Jerjarrod in the Return of the Jedi. Came across you first on RFR and as a 48 year old, U2 fan, veteran of several trips to Ibiza, Cricket lover, teacher with a son called Seb … it’s fair to say I thoroughly enjoyed the episode, and have re listened to your chat with Billy Mac and Jason Swank 👍
