Reflections
Q: What advice would you give to someone potentially facing a similar situation with their pet, sort of about to go on this sort of odyssey?
Seek advice from vets and specialists, not quick fixes from social media. Prepare for a long-term journey and ensure you have good support networks for both yourself and your pet.
Coming to Lincoln
Q: What led you to seek help from a veterinary behaviorist after your past experiences?
You realized that with a child, your family life was severely affected by Drax’s behavior and felt failing was not an option, needing necessary help to enjoy life again.
Coming to Lincoln
Q: Can you tell me how you felt about Drax's behavior just before you came to Lincoln and what your relationship was like around that time?
Becky felt hopeful but also apprehensive that previous solutions wouldn't work, while Craig was more pessimistic after several unsuccessful attempts.
Seeking help
Q: So how were you feeling throughout that kind of process?
It was just really frustrating because it was just like I was on a pyramid scheme.
Seeking help
Q: What did you see as the difference between a trainer and a behaviorist?
I thought she was a behaviorist, but she wasn't.
