  • Outstanding! Science-based, practical, ethical

Great selection of topics, with a good variety of speakers, each allowed to share their expertise with nicely light-handed interview techniques by Melissa Breau. I learn so much, and am motivated to dive deeper. You needn’t be an agility hound to benefit. I’m just a pet owner working on reactivity, health, relationship, and joy. Even those episodes that are essentially previews of classes, outlining what will be taught, are useful — can’t wait to take one! All presenters I’ve heard have been sup... more

  • High Drive Dogs Podcast June 2023

This conversation saved me. I have three dogs and the most recent two have been getting way too much “enrichment”. I have been wondering this for awhile as I started to recognized what overtired looks like in these dogs. I am finally able to find time to take care of myself knowing that my dogs aren’t being ignored but are getting some much needed down time that’s important for their health!

  • Denise Fenzi is destroying the platform

I used to adore Fenzi dogsports. I bought countless classes. Then 2020 came along and Denise’s silencing of BIPOC voices and fake, scripted apologies came along. She claims to have taken all these classes and learned from her mistakes, but she has not. And in 2021 not only has she continued to silence these voices, but she gave a platform to a bigoted and violent balanced trainer. It’s a never ending cycle of her behaving terribly and then doing damage control. She’s destroyed everything that wa... more

  • Thank you, Melissa!

This might be my favorite dog podcast. I have such a HUGE appreciation for the host, Melissa! She does such a fantastic job interviewing guests without interrupting or making the show about her. I find it extremely distracting when other popular hosts constantly interrupt their guests to turn the focus back to themselves instead of letting the guest speak.

The content is fantastic, I appreciate the lack of endless ads and I truly get something out of each episode. Thank you, Fenzi!

Balking means to refuse to proceed, especially after a request to do it, particularly seen when dogs do not walk forward on leash when their humans want them to.
E430: Liz Joyce - "Starting A Handler Fitness Habit"
Q: Is it ever too late to start a fitness journey?
It's never too late; people of all ages can benefit from increasing their activity levels and improving their fitness.

A handler's movement affects how well they communicate with their dog, particularly in agility, where physical cues guide the dog's actions.
E428: Kim Palermo - Advancing CU into the Real World
Q: What does reducing reinforcement look like in this case?
Reducing reinforcement might mean increasing the duration of time between feeding the dog while still maintaining their engagement in the pattern.
