  • I dunno, I subscribed to this, but keep finding it uninteresting, and keep skipping the episodes on my play list - but that might be because my interest of the subject is too low, so I won't rate it that low.

One thing I don't like, at least on the episode I'm listening, is when there are people talking at wildly different speed, one talks so fast that it's difficult to follow at higher than 1x playback speed, and others talk annoyingly slow in comparison, and I can't speed it up 🙄

  • It's very shameful indeed. It still feels to me to fall for some swindlers online who stole $13,500 BTC from me and blocked me. I tried all the seemingly reasonable recommendations I got and nothing worked until I saw Space Spy Recovery's response. I had missed it as their email came in my spam folder and immediately I followed up by providing requested data and they were able to track the transaction and my money returned. You can contact them too for assistance through Email: at soacespy@hacke... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

How Zero-Knowledge Proofs Were Invented (ft. Co-Inventor and Turing Award Winner Shafi Goldwasser)
Q: How did the original poker-inspired problem evolve into interactive proofs and zero-knowledge?
It started with a concrete question about proving a card dealt properly without revealing the cards, which required interaction and probabilistic checks. Over time, this led to a formal definition of zero-knowledge through the simulation paradigm and generalization to proving computations rather than specific card games.
Marc Andreessen and Chris Dixon: Why America Needs CLARITY
Q: How does the bill handle illicit finance concerns and sanctions evasion?
The act provides clear definitions and imposes the same anti-fraud and AML rules on crypto intermediaries as other financial markets, plus stronger law enforcement oversight.
Marc Andreessen and Chris Dixon: Why America Needs CLARITY
Q: What happens if the Clarity Act does not pass?
Without federal permanence, regulation would rely on agency rulemaking, which is less stable and slower for industry planning, potentially delaying growth and innovation.
Marc Andreessen and Chris Dixon: Why America Needs CLARITY
Q: Why is regulatory clarity important for the crypto industry and the country as a whole?
Regulatory clarity reduces gray areas, prevents a race to the bottom with offshore competitors, ensures consumer protections, and creates a stable environment for long-term investment and innovation.
Why markets fail — and how to fix them (ft. Nobel economist Alvin Roth)
Q: So Al, welcome. Could you take us through your evolution from focusing on papers to focusing on helping real people?
Al Roth describes the shift from theoretical foundations to practical market design, explaining how real-world complexities like couples in matching markets require adapting theory, and how the medical residency and school choice matches became canonical examples of translating theory into practice.
