  • Not worth your time

Gun part is great. Sadly the rest is a lot of dick jokes, maga pablum, and dead air. They should stick to talking about shooting.

  • Facting Factually

It’s strange that the lack of pedantic contrarian contributions have heightened my enjoyment.

I’m talking about Aaron not being there.

    Keep it up.

  • Too little shooting

I gave it two stars because at least they did eventually get around to shooting, but like most hobby podcasts it’s mostly a bunch of friends talking trash about each other and rambling on about stuff that has nothing to do with their topic. I’ve listened to several episodes and it’s not uncommon for them to ramble on for 15 minutes before they even begin to talk about shooting.

Too little content, too much “bro time.”

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Double Tap 461 – Gummer
Q: What book did you read that influenced the EMP discussion, and why is its depiction of societal collapse debated?
A post-apocalyptic book that realistically highlights how some communities would struggle with supply and infrastructure, while others would adapt; the group notes it's not a literal prediction but a prompt for thinking about preparedness.
Double Tap 461 – Gummer
Q: What EMP safe vehicle would you take if you had 10 grand?
A go-kart or an older, carbureted vehicle from before widespread fuel injection, to avoid heavy electronics and fuel-injection systems.
Double Tap 459 – Male Man
Q: What is the best caliber for a new shooter or 'nil guy'?
They argue that the best caliber is the one you can hit your target with accurately; emphasize shot placement over caliber and suggest starting with something manageable like .22 for practice, but acknowledge practical considerations for hunting or self-defense.
Double Tap 457 – Dusky on Welfare
Q: What barrel length would you recommend for a 350 Legend AR intended for up to 100 yards?
The group leans toward around 16 inches as a balanced choice, noting that 16 inches provides a good blend of velocity and maneuverability, while 12-14 inch options can work for close quarters and shorter, lighter setups, depending on hunting or usage goals.
Double Tap 458 – DMR Bros
Q: Question from anonymous coward John. Hey guys, I want to ask you a question regarding hunting. Do you think I should get a 22 air rifle small game and a crossbow big game to cover my hunting needs in both areas or is there a caliber you guys recommend that would do both?
The group discusses crossbow legality by state, and notes that for many setups a shotgun or a versatile centerfire option may be better; they suggest clarifying state rules and hunting targets before choosing a single caliber for both, with emphasis on practical limits and safety.
