  • Not worth your time

Gun part is great. Sadly the rest is a lot of dick jokes, maga pablum, and dead air. They should stick to talking about shooting.

  • Facting Factually

It’s strange that the lack of pedantic contrarian contributions have heightened my enjoyment.

I’m talking about Aaron not being there.

    Keep it up.

  • Too little shooting

I gave it two stars because at least they did eventually get around to shooting, but like most hobby podcasts it’s mostly a bunch of friends talking trash about each other and rambling on about stuff that has nothing to do with their topic. I’ve listened to several episodes and it’s not uncommon for them to ramble on for 15 minutes before they even begin to talk about shooting.

Too little content, too much “bro time.”

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Double Tap 453 – ButterSoft
Q: Question from Anonymous Coward from California about Dear WLS format.
Hosts explain how to submit questions and engage with show notes and live voting to influence episode content.
Double Tap 452 – 12 pounds
Q: What are your thoughts on the new 2011-open pistol platforms like the EAA CMX/CMXX in 9mm?
The group agrees that the 2011s bring advantages in capacity and ergonomics, but many voices express fatigue with the magwell and streamline design, noting that some models are overpriced for the current open-gun market and that traditional open-gun platforms still dominate competition use.
Double Tap 452 – 12 pounds
Q: What good scope would you recommend for hunting in the woods/mountains around Appalachia with a budget around $2,000?
The panel suggests that for 200-yard targets you don't necessarily need two grand; solid mid- to upper-mid-range brands (Vortex, Swamp Fox, Nightforce, or Burris) can deliver clear glass and good performance, and to focus on usability and light transmission rather than chasing the absolute top-end models.
We Like Shooting 653 – Thyahck
Q: What makes the Hunters HD Gold lenses stand out against competitors?
The lenses use TriVex material, a brown-based photochromic, and a medical dye that brightens vision and reduces SAD effects, delivering faster darkening and clearer targets for shooters.
Double Tap 451 – Bananas and Apples
Q: Next question from the audience
Discussion shifts to piston-driven vs DI systems with expert opinions on patents and practical performance.
