  • Disdain for listeners

What’s the point of doing the mailbag when all you do is mock the people who send in questions and say you don’t know? And no… I have never sent in a question. But the disdain you have for your listeners comes across as tone deaf and holier than thou.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Porch: Chapel Hill Regional Check List with D1 Baseball's Joe Healy
Q: What do you think Tennessee needs to do to win this regional?
The bullpen needs to show depth and reliability from at least two of Braden Krenzel, Mark Hendy, and Brady Frederick, while the offense sustains performance; if they can get two solid innings from those relievers and execute a plan to get through the first two games, they have a shot at a 2-0 start and then can manage the third game with a blend of arms.
Mailbag Podcast: What will the Tennessee basketball roster look like next season?
Q: Is Faison the chosen one for the starting job and how are the early spring evaluations going?
The crew notes continued development from freshmen like Faison, with competition and coaching adjustments ongoing in spring practice; they caution it's early and fluid.
Mailbag Podcast: What will the Tennessee basketball roster look like next season?
Q: How much of the roster decision will be about money versus minutes and role?
They say it's a balance: money matters, but minutes and role clarity determine who stays and who competes for playing time, with NIL and open-market dynamics affecting decisions on both sides.
Mailbag Podcast: What will the Tennessee basketball roster look like next season?
Q: Grant, were you surprised that Rick Barnes was candid about enjoying the portal and the speed of recruiting in that environment?
Yes, the panel was surprised by the candor, noting that many coaches publicly lament the portal, but privately some see it as a valuable, efficient way to identify and evaluate players quickly.
The Porch: Weekend rotation shakeup for Tennessee at Vanderbilt
Q: What's the thought behind moving Teagan Coons into the weekend rotation, and how does that affect the others?
The hosts discuss that Coons' inflated ERA and durability concerns prompted moving him to a potential bullpen- or multi-inning role, while Arvinsen and Mack provide depth; the move is seen as a strategic attempt to maximize the rotation's ceiling and manage innings.
