  • Disdain for listeners

What’s the point of doing the mailbag when all you do is mock the people who send in questions and say you don’t know? And no… I have never sent in a question. But the disdain you have for your listeners comes across as tone deaf and holier than thou.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

VQ Podcast: On3's Chad Simmons joins to talk David Gabriel Georges commitment & what it means for Vols
Q: Chad, what makes Georges stand out as a running back compared to other top prospects you've seen?
Chad described Georges as a complete back with a rare blend of patience and violent efficiency, capable of catching the ball well, running between tackles, and thriving in space; he compared Georges' potential to elite backs in terms of vision, work ethic, and a high ceiling, suggesting he could be a cornerstone for Tennessee.
Mailbag Podcast: What do we actually know for sure about this football team?
Q: What is the football team actually known for this fall and what are the major unknowns?
The group notes experience and offense depth as positives, while defensive line inexperience and quarterback uncertainty are key unknowns; much depends on health, pass protection, and how the defense elevates its play.
Mailbag Podcast: Latest with David Gabriel Georges, Tennessee football discussions
Q: Should the SEC use week zero or the first Thursday night game of the season as an opportunity to schedule a conference game?
The hosts think opening a season with a conference game would be tough to get buy-in from coaches, and there's a sense that marquee non-conference matchups early can help showcase the league without forcing conference implications right away.
Mailbag Podcast: What should expectations be for the Tennessee football recruiting class?
Q: How might Faizon be evaluated in the short term if he's the quarterback this season?
They discuss concern about experience but acknowledge Faizon's athleticism and potential role. The consensus is that health, opportunity, and how the two quarterbacks perform in practice and during early games will heavily influence how quickly Faizon can contribute.
Mailbag Podcast: What should expectations be for the Tennessee football recruiting class?
Q: What factors determine how many high school players Tennessee should target this year?
The panel suggests a balance between high school signees and portal additions, driven by roster needs, retention, and the current staff's comfort level with development. The group implies a lighter high school class this year and potentially more portal influence next year depending on roster composition.
