  • 5 stars but…

Even though I share the p.o.v of DSR Daily I believe that David Rothkopf is detrimental to its message. He strikes me as smarmy and often patronizing to his co-hosts—whom he treats as sidekicks. I much prefer the Daily Blast episodes hosted by Greg Sargent.

  • Was better before

Liked much better when it was a daily news bulletin without the unnecessary Rothkopf opinions and monitoring - I get that from other podcasts, so it isnt that i don't appreciate his pov, but why not leave this format alone?

  • Better than I expected-Great daily summary

I first found DSR after the Ukraine invasion. And I didn’t expect it to be such a great news aggregator, thinking it was limited in focus. But I was wrong. It’s broadly focused. And does an excellent job of gathering and disseminating daily summaries that are professional and informative.

If I were forced to give up other news sources keeping this single show would be my choice.

    Highly recommended.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

DSR Daily Live July 31: Hamas Agrees to Disarm—Will it Actually Achieve Peace?
Q: What impact do you think Elon Musk's nine-figure plan to support GOP candidates will have?
The hosts suggested the impact will be limited, especially in purple districts, and that independent voters and young people are more pivotal; big checks may backfire with independents who distrust large donors.
May 14: FBI Prioritizing Immigration Over White Collar Crime?
Q: If a white collar criminal is elected president of the United States, what do you think the FBI will focus on less?
The response highlighted that if a white collar criminal became president, the focus of the FBI would likely shift away from white collar crime.
February 7: Trump Sanctions ICC
Q: Who is watching The Money? How are the closing and pauses of these departments creating black holes to budget oversight?
The lack of oversight allows political power to be concentrated among wealthy donors, leading to potentially unethical government practices.
January 31: The Patel and Gabbard Hearings
Q: What on earth is going on with Fetterman?
The hosts suggest that Fetterman's behavior may be linked to his past stroke and regard him as a politically inconsistent figure, expressing disappointment in his divergence from progressive ideals.
January 10: Trump to be Sentenced
Q: What would happen if the Republican majority North Carolina Supreme Court tosses 60,000 ballots from the 2024 election?
This would fundamentally undermine democracy in the U.S. as it reflects an attempt to alter election results without justification.
