Hosts are terrible
While I love anew England True Crime (despite what these two say, there is another New England only podcast called Dark Downeast but I digress) I have tried to listen to this a few times and just can not. The first 24 minutes spent on non case related babble is more than I can handle. And I feel like they think they are cute…their squeaky voices are a bit much.
Katie and Liz pick such great cases to cover - a lot of which other true crime podcasts haven’t covered and haven’t gotten the attention they deserve. I also appreciate the New England focus- a lot of places they talk about I recognize and have even been to. I always recommend this pod to any friend that loves true crime.
I was excited to find this podcast. I believe when you start a podcast of this nature that deals with death and suffering you should do your homework. I listened to the episode of Nettie Melendez a case I’ve always been interested. In the episode they mention that Nettie’s murder was overshadowed by another missing girl Molly Bish. Molly bush went missing 11 years after Nettie was killed. Fact check better. You lost me.
I was really excited to find this podcast, especially since they covered a lesser known case that I think should be much bigger in the media. I couldn’t even listen to the full podcast because these hosts are so insufferable. They make strange assumptions that don’t help the story. The way they talk about people is rude and immature. They also use Wikipedia as their main source of information. That’s nothing that I need to listen to honestly. I’ve read the Wikipedia page. Go listen to crime junk... more

Two women hosts cover true crime centered in New England, with a strong emphasis on locally overlooked cases and victims of color. Episodes balance case recounts with research notes, source discussions, and broader social context—from policing and gun violence to family dynamics and community impact. The show is known for its casual, conversational style, thorough sourcing, and a clear commitment to highlighting underreported stories in a region often ignored by national crime coverage. A notable niche is their focus on New England-specific cases, plus a candid, empathetic tone that listeners frequently praise, making it appealing to fans of regional true crime with a social lens.
