  • Subculture Analysis is Back and Better than Ever

Molls has long been one for the analysis of subcultures. True Plz Advise heads remember many an episode where she would dive deep on juggalo culture. She brings that same terminally online approach to her deep dives here. Rob is an excellent addition. The show has an excellent conceit, can’t wait to listen to more episodes!

  • Halfsies

Molly and Rob make a great duo! Their cultural observations and criticism - of a medium that is necessarily very shallow - is surprisingly deep.

  • Not just a Solid Listen….

This is a Stellar Listen. I love this duo so much. The topics are interesting and I appreciate how supportive they are of each other. They aren’t just winging it. They come prepared and give it. Molly and Rob are vulnerable in a way as well sharing their interests and feelings. Great show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Comedy + Eaze
Q: You've talked about the balance between writing longer forms and delivering quick laughs. How do you manage deadlines and creative energy across formats?
I rely on deadlines to compel progress, but I also carve out time for longer projects to maintain staying power. Quick laughs come from stand-up and improv training, whereas longer works require sustained development and discipline, with regular writing routines.
Comedy + Eaze
Q: What drew you to gig economy work like Eaze, and how does it intersect with your comedy career?
The gig work offers flexible hours and an opportunity to observe people in real-life scenarios, which can generate authentic material. It also highlights a practical side of modern work—safety, logistics, and customer interactions—that can inform storytelling and performance.
Comedy + Eaze
Q: Steve, after years in the game, what is your take on what makes people laugh and how that translates into your writing and performing?
Laughter is highly situational and personal; while some moments hit broadly, much of what works depends on audience, delivery, and context. I've learned to write with deadlines to shape the piece quickly, but the lasting power comes from crafting material that can evolve with time and is grounded in authentic observation.
Nancy Guthrie + Nirvanna: The Band - the Show - the Movie (LIVE-TO-TAPE EPISODE)
Q: Can you start very high level about what's going on with Nancy Guthrie?
Nancy Guthrie is the 84 year old mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, who was reported missing after failing to arrive to a scheduled church service.
Addison Rae + The Compound
Q: After experiencing Addison Live, that are there any more seasoned live artists that are maybe worried about Addison taking the crown?
Molly and Rob discuss if seasoned artists should be worried about Addison Rae's rise.
