Episode 169 with Arsalan Khalid: how cricket became a safe haven and social hub for Arsalan in Ireland having moved there from Pakistan aged 19
Q: How did your coaching career develop alongside your personal and family commitments?

Q: What was your first experience playing cricket in Ireland and how did that lead to coaching opportunities?
Moving to Ireland at 19, I found there was little cricket; joining Carlo Cricket Club and helping to start hardball cricket with Cricket Ireland funding showed me the impact coaching can have, eventually guiding me toward formal ECB coaching qualifications and a career with Lancashire Cricket Foundation.

Q: Where did you first get involved in the game of cricket and why is it still part of your life today?
I grew up in Lahore, Pakistan, where cricket was everywhere in the family and streets; it was a natural pull from childhood memories, and even after moving abroad, the sport provided continuity, happiness, and a way to socialise and stay focused on studies.
