Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bonus EP - Simon Reynolds on My Bloody Valentine, shoegaze and more
Q: What was the pushback from 4AD faithful when Throwing Muses and Pixies joined the label, given their departure from classic 4AD sound?
There was some initial resistance from a subset of traditional 4AD fans, but Reynolds notes that many fans embraced the Muses and Pixies for their dream logic and innovative approach, even if it wasn't the classic 4AD sound; the label's broader aura helped carry the new sounds forward.
Bonus EP - Simon Reynolds on My Bloody Valentine, shoegaze and more
Q: How would you try and sum up the book? What's the pitch line of the book really, Simon, Still In A Dream?
The book is intended as a love letter to the 1984–1994 era, celebrating how musicians and writers navigated pre-internet culture, rediscovered earlier rock histories, and used the guitar and sound to reinvent rock, while also reflecting on the evolving role of music journalism.
EP58 - The Big Romance by David Kitt
Q: Was Small Moments recorded in a bedroom, and how did the conditions differ from The Big Romance?
Small Moments was created in a very intimate, home-based setup with a small group living together and working late at night, which contrasts with the more complex, studio-driven approach later used for The Big Romance.
Bonus EP - Nigel Grainge: Thin Lizzy, The Boomtown Rats, Sinéad O'Connor and Ensign Records
Q: When you go through those bands on Ensign, Nigel, how did it happen that a lot of Irish bands got signed to Ensign?
Many times and I've never been able to answer it. I have no idea.
EP57 - A Tonic For the Troops by The Boomtown Rats
Q: Can you tell me about Rat Trap and how he came to write it?
Bob explained that 'Rat Trap' was written from observing the struggles of those around him in an abattoir, representing a sense of entrapment similar to the lives of those he was describing.
