  • Too bro-y these days

I’m a longtime listener but am really disappointed with the show since Tammy left. It’s just become too casual and un-researched— feels like two bros just agreeing with each other about their contrarian takes. Also, this sounds petty, but Tyler’s non-stop use of “you know” is absolutely maddening.

  • Worth listening to, w some caveats

I appreciate the thoughtful takes on politics and current events, esp by Jay. One thing that drives me nuts is the unedited/unproduced nature of this podcast - they will talk through tech issues instead of editing that out of the recording. Why???

  • Unsubscribing because of rightward shift

I’ve been a listener since 2020. Echoing other reviews that Tammy and Andy were necessary counterbalances to Jay’s libertarian/reactionary tendencies. Current podcast is just warmed over reactionary takes to the news of the week mixed with recounting stale social media discourse. Can’t continue to support, unfortunately.

The Big Data Center in the Sky with Aaron Regunberg
Q: What is the core argument for establishing a data center moratorium and who is backing it?
The core argument is that rapid data center expansion threatens local communities through higher electrical rates, water usage, and environmental impact, and it seeks to pause growth to reassess societal needs and governance. Backers include Bernie Sanders, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and a broader left-leaning coalition lobbying for local and state-level measures.

A New Novel about the Space Race, Drugs, and Cults with Joshua Wheeler
Q: Did you set out from the beginning to write this kind of story that spanned multiple decades?
The idea evolved as I wanted to tell a broad narrative that could explore different life stages and place settings.
Charlie Kirk and Do We Need Better Debates with John Ganz
Q: What compelled you to take this avenue outside of writing?
I had an emotional response but analyzed the intertwining of free speech and the Second Amendment following the incident.
