  • Simoni brings the energy!

I’m a fan of the CFL game in general, but Simoni’s got me pulling for the Ticats each week now just to see how hyped he gets the next week! Great podcast for Ticats fans and CFL fans alike!

  • Objectivity vs Homer

Bubba O’Neil and his crew around the CFL are objective and informative - I find the other shows on the Ticats Audio Networl are just too focused on slurping the Ticats and telling them how wonderful they are - when in fact they are not - that are a sub .500 third place team in a shortened season, in danger of missing the playoffs, when the expectation was always to be playing in a home game for the Grey Cup - I hope they can get there - I have had seasons tickets for 30+ years and love the Cats ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Bye Week Check-In — Taking Stock of the Tiger-Cats and the CFL | Ticats Today | June 25, 2026
Q: Can you talk a little about quarterback play league-wide?
Milton emphasizes strong, varied quarterback play across the CFL, with a mix of veterans and emerging talents, continuity in offensive schemes, and the impact of coaches on allowing players to perform at a high level; the trend is characterized by high scoring, accurate passing, and improved ball security.
Back In The Hammer — Ticats Prepare for Week 3 Following First Win | Ticats Today | June 15, 2026
Q: One more thing, you mentioned the running game. Did you do something different, or was it just execution that was different from the first week?
We had one different run that was unique to what we do, but overall the execution followed our bread-and-butter style, contributing to a clearer run game and better production.
The Art of Conversation — Cabbie Richards on Life & Sports | 21 Questions with Simoni Lawrence | June 16, 2026
Q: What's something about the sports media industry that would shock most people?
There are distinct access tiers; credentialed broadcasters get more access and privileges than other outlets, and getting on the right bus or seat often comes down to who you know and how you build relationships with PR staff and athletes.
Pregame Salutations | Preseason Week 2 vs. Toronto
Q: What are you really looking for?
Sal discusses position-by-position evaluation, emphasizing the need to test the offensive line's blocking, the running backs' ball security and ability to take punishment, and the defense's ability to cover gaps, while also considering overall chemistry and potential across the roster.
The Great Return — Isaiah Wooden Sr. Back in Black & Gold | Ticats Today | May 25, 2026
Q: Can you play in this league with this body or do you have to drop a few pounds?
He confirms he can play in the CFL with his current build and expects the pace and physicality to be higher, with adjustments.
