Dana Klein & Matt Kuhn (DMV)
Q: What was the why now for DMV?
It was a lot about finding the extraordinary moments in what is arguably one of the most un-extraordinary places.
Dana Klein & Matt Kuhn (DMV)
Q: What did you see as your job and specifically like what is the pitch look like once they sort of know the area that you're going to be playing with?
When I pitch something for network, I follow somewhat of the same formula, which is like talking about why I responded to it, what's personal about it, what makes it specific, going into the characters, the world, broad strokes of a pilot, some story examples, and then sort of ending with the like, why now piece of it.
Shane Black (Play Dirty; The Nice Guys)
Q: What was the most fun part of the movie-making process?
The most fun is always in the editing room, where new ideas can emerge and form a different version of the film.
Shane Black (Play Dirty; The Nice Guys)
Q: What's the hardest part of the whole process from writing to editing?
The biggest challenge was finding ways to condense the film into a budgetable venture while maintaining its essence.
Nnamdi Asomugha (The Knife)
Q: Why take on directing when you had a successful acting career?
I wasn't even doing any writing until this project came to me, and it was an unexpected opportunity to explore directing.
