When you spoke of May and how fierce she was….i will tell you our TracHer brought into the house through the doggie door, a cottontail rabbit at 5 months old, her interest in fur remains strong to this day. It includes squirrels and raccoons and a few encounters with porcupines over the years. Your May was TracHer’s dam.

  • Fun Podcast

This is a well put together podcast that has lots of great information and is entertaining and easy to listen to. I don’t even on a dog, let alone a hunting dog, but it has been fun to listen to his very knowledgeable guests and learn about this subject from people that obviously know and care a lot about the subject!

8: English Pointers with Bob Konz from Hackberry Kennels
Q: What do you think was the biggest trigger, the biggest thing that you learned over the course of 40 years between sort of a backyard Vichela litter and then a couple of backyard pointer litters to litters that ultimately ended up with dogs like Cody and Sydney?

Q: What is it about the French Spaniels that's kept you resilient and involved with the breed?
Part of it is their personality. They have this sweet, gentle personality, and they're not an overbearing dog.

Q: Do you find too that maybe the Drents might mature a little bit later than some of the other dogs?
Yes, Drents are slow to mature both emotionally and physically, which adds to their bond with the handler and affects their training progression.
