It’s not just that Uncle Jerry is an expert in poetry and does a phenomenal job of interpreting Taylor’s lyrics. It’s that HE DOESN’T LISTEN before interpreting! So one of the most-satisfying parts of the pod is Jerry reacting to the SONG after only-reading the LYRICS! And not to be too on-the-nose, but it’s not uncommon for Angela and Jer (can I call you Jer?) to have a fresh “Epiphany” while they’re discussing. I think it’s tough to talk about Taylor’s songs in a fresh, fun, and engaging way t... more
Great analysis and lovely rapport between the hosts. Every episode has been great. Thank you.
I really love this podcast bc i not Only learn while hearing about Taylor Swift, your are also just so awesome
I came across this podcast and all I have to say is wow. This is so perfect. I’ve listened to other Taylor related podcasts where they talk about the songs and what fans speculate them to be about and relevant pop culture at the time of those songs, etc. This is so much more, having Uncle J dissect each song, line by line, by first reading the lyrics only is everything I never knew I needed. I’m new so I am trying to get caught up to where I can listen to new episodes as they air, but I am enjoy... more
I’m 8 episodes in and I will delete this if the host (Angela) does make some changes as this podcast progresses. I know she’s new to it so I’m giving grace. The breathing and the constant giggling is bad but the worst part is how she ruins the entire reason Jerry is there. I loved that he doesn’t know what it’s about and is supposed to talk about the poetry but Angela interrupts to talk about other songs and can’t even wait 5 minutes before telling him who the song is about. Like… stop! Tell him... more
