Tablet's editor on opinion writing and Gen Z’s newfound love of print
Q: What advice would you give to someone who's trying to maybe add opinion to something that they're writing?
It's about being self-aware and understanding your emotional investment in the story you want to tell, ensuring it connects with a strong perspective.
Tablet's editor on opinion writing and Gen Z’s newfound love of print
Q: Has your role as Editor-in-Chief changed since October 7th, 2023?
Yes, we have a much younger readership now and I have made space for their perspectives, as they come up with story ideas I wouldn't have thought of.
Tablet's editor on opinion writing and Gen Z’s newfound love of print
Q: How do you hope people read what you have to say in conjunction with a story?
I write it with the idea that it's coming first, almost like throat clearing to get people situated before they read the piece.
Journalist Bradley Hope talks narrative writing and the future of AI
Q: In the end, do you think the main takeaway here is that the mast, which was unusually tall, is likely the main reason why the boat sank?
Yes, I think that that is the number one factor for it tipping over at that moment.
Journalist Bradley Hope talks narrative writing and the future of AI
Q: How do you view your role as a journalist with this type of story when the conspiracy theory machine is working over time in the beginning?
I didn't really get too caught up in the conspiracy theories of it. I found in the reporting that it was very easy to quickly establish that none of those things have any basis whatsoever.
