In 2189, Earth narrowly won a war against extraterrestrials. The Strange Case of Starship Iris is about what comes after. It's a story of outer space, survival, espionage, resistance, identity, friendship, found family, romance, and secrets. (Also, there’s jokes.) For more info, visit procyonpodcasts.com/starship-iris

The Strange Case of Starship Iris is truly a work of art. The storyline, the scoring, the representation, the acting, 10 out of 10 for all of it. I blew through this podcast more quickly than I've listened to a podcast in a long time; the story was gripping and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. A feel-good podcast, but not in a cheesy way. As someone who is not generally a huge fan of fiction podcasts, I cannot recommend Starship Iris enough.
Thank you for what?
For renewing my hope that there are more audio fiction/drama creative beings in the universe.. or at least being part of the balance.
TOO many podcasts saying they are audio drama/fiction that are not or I can’t find them.
Sound design on point, voice acting is totally believable (aka, awesome job cast!) the story never lags, never wanders off and kept me awake all night because I needed to hear one more episode.
I’m sad knowing the next season is the last but also glad ... more
After the first episode I wasn't sure if I was into it. Good thing I found some reviews from idiots who think vaguely queer characters ruin a podcast. Now I know I'll like it. After a few more episodes it turns out I'm glad I stuck with it!
This was the very first podcast that ignited my love for audio drama, years ago. I listened through again recently, so I'd be ready for season 3, and it's still just SO GOOD.
Prefigurative score: 10/10
*Outstanding* long-story-arc science fiction. Alien linguistics; an alien who gets our slang expressions almost right; the interstellar Human Republic turned autocratic; aliens amused by a species that has more than one gender (yes, that's us); clandestine inter-species romance; a possible new mysterious "space disease" — it's all there.
