  • No one loves hockey more than Marek

Marek loves hockey. Not a specific team, not the nhl, just a pure love of the game itself. And his passion comes through in everything he talks about during the show. He’s changed the way that I’m a fan of the game and I’m thankful for it.

  • “PAUSE! PAUSE! PAUSE!”

This might be a good podcast, but I’ll never know because Jeff and Wysh won’t stop interrupting each other.

  • Not what he used to be!

Used to love Marek, but his frequent guests, particularly Wyshynski, are unlistenable, he’s horrible.

His last show is actually better without him.

  • I like Greg.

I’ll listen when Greg is there, that’s it. Not much else to say. Jeff-isms can really annoy me. Too many things retold. Too many repetitive things to listen to the show consistently.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Golden Knights Take Game 1 in Carolina ft. Brian Burke & Bill McCreary
Q: What stands out about McCreary's approach to a high-pressure game like the 1994 Game 7 or the 2010 Olympics?
A constant emphasis on clear communication with players, staying within rules while managing emotional energy, and ensuring the game remains entertaining yet fair.
Golden Knights Take Game 1 in Carolina ft. Brian Burke & Bill McCreary
Q: What is the mentality going into emotionally charged games like Eric Lindros in Quebec?
Maintain safety and fairness, acknowledge the intense crowd atmosphere, and focus on clear communication to keep players within boundaries and the game under control.
Stanley Cup Final Preview: Canes vs Golden Knights ft. Pierre McGuire
Q: What interests you in this one? Like where's the spice in the chili here for you, Pierre?
The spice comes from the coaching matchup and how Carolina's neutral-zone approach can choke Vegas, plus the depth and intel on players that will influence how teams pre-scout and respond to key matchups throughout the series.
On the Sheet: Martin Biron on the Sabres Dropping Games 2 and 3, Goaltending and Lineup Changes, and more
Q: What are your adjustments for game four on the road, and how do you approach the goaltending decision in that particular scenario?
The adjustment hinges on whether to rely on a single number one goalie or continue rotating, but in a must-win road game, I'd lean toward a setup that maximizes big saves and minimizes defensive breakdowns, potentially giving Lukanen a chance if his upside fits the moment.
On the Sheet: Martin Biron on the Sabres Dropping Games 2 and 3, Goaltending and Lineup Changes, and more
Q: What is the biggest concern for the Sabres—top-line production or depth—and what changes would you make to address that?
If the top line isn't producing, you could experiment with moving Benson up or shuffling Crabs off the top line, while also potentially inserting younger players like Hellenus to spark the middle six and counter Montreal's depth; it's about finding the right balance between immediate impact and future potential.
