  • Not what he used to be!

Used to love Marek, but his frequent guests, particularly Wyshynski, are unlistenable, he’s horrible.

His last show is actually better without him.

  • I like Greg.

I’ll listen when Greg is there, that’s it. Not much else to say. Jeff-isms can really annoy me. Too many things retold. Too many repetitive things to listen to the show consistently.

Can’t disagree more with Greg’s assertion that the US Men’s Hockey Team is Toxic. Bad take.

  • Fighting!

The subject of fighting in the game came up

last pod and I want to throw out my 2 cents.

I am 56 yrs old so I grew up on the 70’s and 80’s Hockey that had lots of 3 hour games and lots of fights. Growing up in St Louis I invented new curse words for the likes of Al Secord and Willi Plett and I loved every second of it. That era had rivalries because of the physicality and yes the fights.

Why did the NHL get after the 4 Nations tournament last year? The fights in the first Canada-USA game were ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

On the Sheet: Martin Biron on the Sabres Dropping Games 2 and 3, Goaltending and Lineup Changes, and more
Q: What are your adjustments for game four on the road, and how do you approach the goaltending decision in that particular scenario?
The adjustment hinges on whether to rely on a single number one goalie or continue rotating, but in a must-win road game, I'd lean toward a setup that maximizes big saves and minimizes defensive breakdowns, potentially giving Lukanen a chance if his upside fits the moment.

Q: What is the biggest concern for the Sabres—top-line production or depth—and what changes would you make to address that?
If the top line isn't producing, you could experiment with moving Benson up or shuffling Crabs off the top line, while also potentially inserting younger players like Hellenus to spark the middle six and counter Montreal's depth; it's about finding the right balance between immediate impact and future potential.
On the Sheet: Martin Biron on the Sabres Dropping Games 2 and 3, Goaltending and Lineup Changes, and more
Q: Would you make any other adjustments to the Buffalo Series, given what we've seen so far?
I'd consider going with a true number one in net if possible, or balancing the lineup to inject depth with players who can boost the middle six and top six chemistry, depending on what the team needs most to counter Montreal's adjustments.
On the Sheet: Martin Biron on the Sabres Dropping Games 2 and 3, Goaltending and Lineup Changes, and more
Q: Okay, last question for you. I want you to put on a sort of Montreal Canadiens hat here. Were you born in Quebec City or just outside?
I was born in Lac-Saint-Charles near Quebec City, and I grew up a Quebec Nordiques fan; I deeply respect the Canadiens and love covering them, but I clearly rooted for my home region during my youth.
On the Sheet: David Alter on the Toronto Maple Leafs Firing Craig Berube
Q: Has anything caught your eye here that you would say, well, I didn't expect that?
David Alter notes that details behind the Berube firing were sparse and that teams often reveal less about internal thinking, signaling a move toward a more opaque, actions-first communication while evaluating long-term organizational aims.
