I think a lot of what Roland says is helpful and I appreciate the courage to be bold when it comes to subjects like masculinity, addiction, ect. The whole “high achiever” angle is in my opinion a little snake oil salesman-y. I think it strokes the egos of those who struggle with unwanted sexual behavior but want to feel special or unique from the “average achiever” man whatever that is. Sure I think doctors or lawyers might have different struggles than a janitor with sec addiction, because i... more

  • Life changing perspectives

Deeply impacted me on healing my own patterns of sexual dysfunction from the high achiever’s mindset.

Really helped me reset my mind and heart and dig and unearth my own wounds and unhealthy patterns.

A lot of the toxic masculine and cultural paradigms that a lot of us have.

  • Textbook Misogyny

This man is not qualified to be working with sex addiction. His misogyny and self serving attitudes are on full display. Funny he only works with high achievers entrepreneurs-I’m guessing he cares more about the money than the actual people. Just another coach selling snake oil and causing damage all along the way.

  • Walking the Walk

Roland is the real deal- Despite the compelling style he brings to each conversation,

doubling down on the hard questions, he is sincerely interested in answers he may or may not agree with. He is equally willing to expose his deep shame and vulnerability, as well as validate and own what his partner has endured .

  • Invaluable Must-Listen

Roland is an incredible speaker. He’s deeply authentic and it’s clear he has worked very hard to not only heal his past, but gain understanding and awareness, and shares that with his audience. I’m a betrayed partner of a sex addict (aka process addiction) and hearing Roland has helped me navigate recovery and make sense of this journey. I look forward to every episode he shares.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

121. Conviction: The Key To Long-Term Sex Addiction Sobriety
Q: Define conviction in terms of recovery. How does this feel? What does it look like?
Conviction is about committing to a higher standard and choosing long-term growth over short-term gratification, even when there are slips. It is reinforced by consistent actions, accountability, and a willingness to have hard conversations and face discomfort.
115. “It’s just porn”, “It was all virtual”, “We never had sex”: Want to Hear The Truth?
Q: How should someone start recovery today?
Join a community of men, reach out for real accountability, and replace blocker dependence with open communication, self-discovery, and consistent support from peers and loved ones.
115. “It’s just porn”, “It was all virtual”, “We never had sex”: Want to Hear The Truth?
Q: What's wrong with pornography?
Pornography is argued to be unsustainable for individuals and society, often dehumanizing women and creating a pathway toward more extreme consumption; recovery focuses on behavior-by-behavior analysis and building authentic, communal accountability.
62. Have You Tried This Yet? Using IFS To Treat Sex Addiction
Q: How does the partnership model IFIO expand IFS for couples or partners?
IFIO extends IFS into couple therapy, helping both partners map their parts, understand protective dynamics, and coordinate healing so interactions with the other person support recovery rather than trigger it.
62. Have You Tried This Yet? Using IFS To Treat Sex Addiction
Q: What is Internal Family Systems and why is it useful for addicts?
IFS is a system where 'parts' are seen as subpersonalities with their own desires and fears. By identifying and befriending these parts, especially the younger, wounded ones, clients can reduce shame, understand triggers, and choose more intentional responses rather than blindly acting on old patterns.
