I used to listen to this podcast as soon as episodes were released but the hosting vibe over the last year has become too combative. One host in particular is constantly complaining about other people’s use of language (SW-related and otherwise) but then can’t simply repeat major character names in the way that they are spoonfed to viewers; this same host often affects a truly horrendous ‘British accent’ (not a thing) completely unchecked. If you want SW news, this is probably still a good show ... more
I used to like this podcast and had it in my regular line up. Then three things happened recently that caused me to drop it from my listening cue… first, they brought in another host, or brought him back, which doesn’t add much to the conversation, just adds more small talk and makes the show less interesting. Second, Lacey had changed her tone and lot. She used to be cool and interesting but now she’s just kind of annoying… her obsession with Ben Solo drives me nuts and her rating The Mandalori... more
I’ve been a long-time listener of the Resistance Broadcast since around the time of TFA. However, after James left I’d come back for the series specific episodes, but eventually just kind of fell off. Not having that third voice and opinion of James (whose takes are sometimes wild, but always insightful) it just felt like there was something missing. A weekly Star Wars discussion show that mixes deep dives into lore with timely news and frame-by-frame reactions to new Mandalorian and related content. Episodes frequently cover spoiler-heavy reviews, marketing tactics, and fan events, while balancing nostalgia with forward-looking speculation about Grogu, Din Djarin, and Crimson Dawn-era storylines. Notable strengths include a lively three-host dynamic, audience interaction, and a willingness to blend topic debates with lighthearted banter and merch/promo moments. The show often leans into cross-media connections (films, animation, parks) and values accessible entry points for new listeners while rewarding long-time fans with niche insights and ongoing series coverage.
