This is a good podcast that could use some work to become great. The main host could work to spend less time generaling the plot page by page or more focus on critism of the books quality and themes. Still opened my eyes to a lot of books and enjoy a lot of their coverage for series like TMNT and Transformers.
I have not listen to every episode. Tend to catch it when it covers things I have read. Do enjoy their Turtles, Transformers, and I hate Fairyland coverage.
There are a plethora of comic book/pop culture podcasts here on iTunes so it can become something of a chore to single out the good from the bad. I only recently came across "The Pull Bag" & what grabbed my attention was that they cover one of my all time favorite characters, the TMNT. They do lengthy epsiodes breaking down, discussing & analyzing IDW's current TMNT series & I love it. Another solid podcast for GCRN. Each episode tends to cover one specific comic so I don't get to listen to everything. I do wish less time was spent going through comics page by page and more focus on general and deeper discussion. Also a lot of great interviews as well.
One of the great moments of each week is walking into your local comic shop and seeing what's in your "pull." You might have a vague idea of what is going to be there but there is usually something unexpected and that is normally something special. That's what this podcast is to me, a chance to get some great comics talk and the chance for something extra special, like the Thom Zahler interview. Great job team, keep it up!
