To imply that people use Pope Francis’ ideas out of fear…. So disrespectful to imply that so soon after his death. Had it occurred to you that his ideas were well-liked, or would that notion only ever apply to popes you approve of? You could just say you don’t like him. Be honest: that’s what’s going on. It is good that you report for/on the church in a evidentiary grounded basis. It is even better that you report against the parties that you are inclined to root for.
This podcast contains some excellent nuggets of news and commentary but also comes with a whole lot of arrogant windbaggery. Unfortunately, the arrogant windbaggery is interspersed throughout, so you can’t easily fast forward past the insufferable bits to get to the interesting bits. Overall it’s not worth the effort, unless it’s your Lenten penance. For news and canon law commentary without the arrogant windbaggery, check out Fr. Gerald Murray or Ed Peters.
