Great show and content. I love the perspectives of a former GM and writers. I like they always do not agree. My only criticism is when Jim “Captain Obvious” tells us the game is hard. Makes me yearn for the Chris Wheeler days!
Great show!!!!
Thanks for the pods wrapping up camp guys!
Never thought I would say I love listening to Amaro talk but Jim Salisbury makes me feel that way. Salisbury is clearly the weak link on the show. Nobody wants to hear his stories about himself over and over again. The sound of his voice is like fingernails on a chalkboard. But much like baseball two out of three will get you to the Hall of Fame. So therefore I keep listening.
Thanks for the analysis guys. For a team that is mostly running it back there is so much going on. And Dombrowski knew what he was doing when he said “not elite.” So much has to go right for this team and a lot is riding on Crawford, Kemp, and Painter. 🤞
Crawford doesn’t profile in CF
Our current outfield setup going into 2026 exposes our weaknesses even more. We could have had a right-handed Golden Glove, true centerfielder — something we haven’t had since Victorino — for a couple years while Crawford (yet another lefty hitter in this lineup) could have gotten acclimated in the outfield. A Phillies-focused show featuring a former player/GM and veteran reporters who offer measured, insider perspectives on the team, its roster moves, and spring training. Episodes routinely blend roster analysis, young prospect development (notably Justin Crawford, Andrew Painter, Bohm), and in-depth conversations about strategy, health, and the franchise's path toward a World Series. The hosts' mix of lived MLB experience and beat reporting tends to yield thoughtful, sometimes candid takes on player dynamics, lineup decisions, and the business side of the game. A standout is the willingness to debate controversial topics (e.g., outfield plans, ad-heavy episodes) with humor and personal anecdotes, making it useful for listeners who want both e... more
