  • Great to sleep to

I honestly don’t care pretty much at all about pens, but that makes this podcast perfect to fall asleep to. They have a massive back catalogue and their banter is a perfect balance between lightly funny but nothing too crazy, important, or exciting.

  • Real Talk

Long time listener, first time reviewer. I very seldomly leave reviews, but wanted to thank you both for your transparency and vulnerability on ep. 640. The world needs more of this, especially from men. I have so many other thoughts on the topic (I’ve typed and deleted half a dozen already) but suffice it to say, thanks for letting us in. Love you guys.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

705: Montblanc Is Buying Up All the RAM
Q: Do you think Lamy's Jetstream Inside stock upgrade will move into more products, and what premium do you expect?
Given the strong demand for Jetstream ink and the popularity of Lamy's Safari line, it's likely they will expand the Jetstream Inside concept; however, pricing will depend on components and distribution, with a premium likely for the upgraded internals but not an unreasonable one if they maintain compatibility across lines.
705: Montblanc Is Buying Up All the RAM
Q: What is your take on the new Sailor Kesara erasable pen and its eraser design?
The pens' eraser design is flawed due to rubber shavings and a counterproductive top mechanism; despite some promising ideas with erasable ink, the overall package is let down by the eraser and aesthetics, making it a tough sell unless the ink erase claims prove to be genuinely superior.
697: Use What You Have
Q: Do you have recommendations for budget pens of interesting nibs?
The hosts recommend the Pilot Penmanship and Pilot Plumix for interesting nibs below $30, as well as Sailor's Fude nibs which offer unique writing experiences.
695: There’s Scissors in Here, Myke!
Q: What are your thoughts on fountain pen cleaning?
It's recommended to flush with just water at each ink change unless there's a clogged pen, then a pen flush can be used sparingly.
695: There’s Scissors in Here, Myke!
Q: Is there a better pen option for a lefty overwriter?
Consider the Uniball Vision Elite or the Tombow Zoom 505 as options that dry faster.
