  • Simply the best

Easily the best podcast out there about writing. Their backlog of episodes is amazing. The hosts are super likable and pull some great conversation out of their guests. I listen to a number of writing podcasts, but this one clears all of them. This show is wildly underrated. I almost never see it recommended, but I am recommending it to you right now!

  • Very Interesting Guests!

I discovered this podcast by accident, and I keep listening because every guest is fascinating. I especially enjoyed the interview with a somewhat reluctant David Mamet. Amazingly talented and productive considering says he is uneducated.

  • An Essential Podcast

An avid reader and writer across genres, I never miss an episode of this essential pod. The hosts are not only well-read and well-prepared, but they’re also immensely likable. Thanks to them, I continue to expand my skills and my TBR; moreover, as an American, I appreciate their insights into UK fiction. Bravo!

Ep. 261 - Katalina Watt on moving from short stories to bestselling novels
Q: How did you transition from short stories to a full-length novel?
The transition is a shift from the rapid gratification of short fiction to the marathon of novel-writing; however, short fiction remains valuable for practice, publication credits, and learning to handle critique and revision.
Ep. 261 - Katalina Watt on moving from short stories to bestselling novels
Q: What is Saltswept all about and why a duology?
Saltswept follows a ragtag crew on a dangerous voyage, introducing a sprawling world with necromancy and a tyrannical queen; realizing the story wouldn't fit in a single book, the author and her agent pivoted to a duology and built a comprehensive world Bible to guide Book Two.
