  • Irony

It’s ironic that the book’s critique of the DEI (EDI) policy in the academia reflects the voices of a fairly homogeneous group, i.e. predominantly white, North American, or European (with a few exceptions like Gad Saad and Luana Maroja). While I agree that the DEI policy, pushed to its limits, can negatively impact the quality of academic scholarship and research (initially), in the absence of a strong DEI policy, people of indigenous and underserved groups will never have the chance to better ... more

  • Terrible Delivery

Lawrence Krauss is a bad host: he interrupts his guests and tells boring anecdotes. This makes his podcast a disappointing experience.

  • The War on Science Interviews

I’ve just listened to another episode of The War on Science Interviews. This one Day 15 brilliant like the others I’ve listened to. This is a crucial debate. Well done and thank you for having the courage to say things counter to wokism.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Gad Saad: Final Episode of The War on Science Interviews
Q: Do you think that the book can still resonate with the public at large?
Krauss hopes the book will attract a broad audience by featuring contributions from well-known academics alongside lesser-known scholars.
Dorian Abbot | The War on Science Interviews | Day 21
Q: What are the three principles you argue are essential for separating science and politics in academia?
Abbot highlights that scientists should be able to say what they want, universities must be neutral on social and political issues, and hiring should be based on merit.
Dorian Abbot | The War on Science Interviews | Day 21
Q: Why did you choose to self-censor in academia?
Dorian Abbot explains that he avoided campus gatherings for years because he feared that voicing his opinions would lead to problems, making it hard to keep track of what was acceptable to say.
Peter Boghossian | The War on Science Interviews | Day 16
Q: Why is there a difference in how academia handles plagiarism compared to other professions like firefighting or air traffic control?
Boghossian argues that academia tends to overlook plagiarism to preserve ideological narratives, unlike other fields where credentials are strictly enforced for competency, emphasizing the importance of accountability in academia.
Geoff Horsman | The War on Science Interviews | Day 13
Q: What are the consequences of claiming underrepresentation without adequate evidence?
Horsman points out that making such claims without evidence can lead to harmful hiring practices and further distortions in academia.
