  • So this guy just critiqued another guy and his argument was that some kinds of slavery are fine. Or perhaps he's referring to indentured servitude. Either way I'm not sure I would release a podcast explaining that is how you feel- you might want to keep that shit to yourself. If he has someone who cleans his house or a nanny or something, i hope they hear this podcast. His pompous delivery should suffice to let us know he thinks himself superior, no need to illustrate this by defending servitude... more

  • Get back on Joe!

Candace is a fool. I realize the moon landing conspiracy stuff is sometimes fun and it keeps the interest level on science up in a way but some people are just ridiculous.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Will AI Replace Scientists?
Q: What were the questions you asked the AI after you fed it all your podcast content and your writings?
I asked it to identify my top five priorities, look for connections across ideas, and surface insights I might be missing, which helped in shaping my upcoming book and research directions.
Will AI Replace Scientists?
Q: I want your quick opinion on the article about AI revealing unexpected new physics in the fourth state of matter. Do you think AI can uncover new forces or laws that we haven't anticipated?
AI can surface novel connections and assist in exploring complex systems, but extraordinary claims like a new fundamental force require rigorous validation, theoretical grounding, and independent replication before being accepted.
Will AI Replace Scientists?
Q: And then what's the most important question in cosmology that you think AI could help us figure out in the next five to ten years?
The ultimate question is how the universe began; AI can help analyze data and test ideas, but the core inquiry and its verification require human-driven theory, experimentation, and interpretation.
Will AI Replace Scientists?
Q: Right. And along those lines, do you think there's a hard ceiling on what silicon-based intelligence can understand about the universe, especially things that require embodied intuition?
There may be practical limits, but no known hard ceiling for universal computation; AI can simulate and assist, yet embodied intuition and physical experimentation remain essential components of scientific discovery.
Will AI Replace Scientists?
Q: Amazing. And focusing on your work in science, what do you think about the developments in AI over the last three, six, 12 months? Is that going to materially influence the trajectory of, let's say, your work or others in your field?
AI has tremendous potential, but breakthroughs in physics will come from human insight; AI will augment rather than replace scientists, particularly in data analysis and coding, while remaining limited in making entirely new theoretical leaps without new data and interpretation.
