  • UNIQUE INFORMATION

I’ve listened to approximately four episodes and I am hooked. I needed something new and different from my others. I love the information given in this format. A lot of it is above my pay grade, but that’s what makes it worth the time to listen and learn something. I especially enjoyed the episode discussing fasting! I practiced intermittent fasting for several years. I understand now why I felt so good doing it. Please continue educating the public and doing it with a calm and soothing voice. more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Salima Adelstein
Q: How can listeners find and engage with the Five C's of Sufism that you mentioned?
Listeners can access a longer version of the remembrance program via Sufi5.com, which provides videos, exercises, and steps toward consciousness, connection, and commitment.
Salima Adelstein
Q: What is the defining line between healing absorption and standard dissociation during these practices?
Healing is about being grounded in the body and in the world, integrating experiences rather than dissociating, with purification allowing deeper engagement rather than escape.
Salima Adelstein
Q: Do you see Sufi practices as primarily a cultivated discipline or something that can be passively received through transmission?
Both active striving and magnetic reception play roles; beginnings involve longing and effort, while deeper changes come through immersion, guidance, and openness to transformative energy.
Salima Adelstein
Q: Salima, from the standpoint of lived nervous system experience, what actually changes in a person who practices Sufi disciplines?
Sufism offers a direct experiential path where the divine is experienced inside, not outside, leading to a gradual purification and transformation that reflects in body, emotions, and daily actions.
Spencer Delisle
Q: How would someone entering CPTSD or PTSD understand the difference between usable stress and toxic stress in the context of meditative practice?
Healing the nervous system and rejuvenating it through structured breathing and meditation helps reframe stress as a navigable state, enabling safer rest and more sustainable responses rather than hypervigilant reactions.
