As an INTJ, I love designing systems and structure, increasing efficiency, and decreasing confusion and duplication. With Sophia’s OOUX content and platform, I feel like I finally found a tribe that thinks similarly and overlaps with that interest (obsession ?). Nerds unite!
Even if you aren’t directly in the field of design but are maybe working with, or along side, design, this is still a great show and OOUX a great approach. If you are in engineering (like I am) and you are working with designers already aware of OOUX this will help you understand what they are doing, why, and be a better collaborator in the process resulting in better delivery (which is what we are all here for right?). In this world, our digital products are becoming more and more interconnected but our design processes haven’t evolved with this growing complexity until OOUX came around. Sophia Prater methodically walks through all the tools and tips necessary to break down complexity of a system and design against it in a way that makes sense to its users. If you care about great UX design, especially if you are working in domains with deep levels of complexity, come along and learn the OOUX process and adapt... more
I love OOUX and admire Sophia for taking this concept from a blog post to an industry-changing skill set. But often times these episodes get long and really complex. I often find myself tuning out 15 minutes in when a guest is in because the chat immediately dives into a problem space I have no context of. I enjoyed the early episodes of how OOUX came to be and talking about the process.
My plea is to shorten the episodes or edit the show so there is more of a linear narrative.
