  • Toronto Today Rocks!!

Greg Brady provides Toronto’s only invaluable source for news and information in the morning. The show makes one laugh and think at the same time. The guests are a fascinating mix of subject matter experts, and the show is truly interactive as calls are taken most days. As a long time listener of morning sports radio, I have transferred to GNR AM 640 every morning from 5:30am to 9:00am.

  • Made the Switch

I have been a 590 listener for the two decades I've lived in the GTA. A month ago I made the switch five clicks up the dial to 640 for my long morning commutes. I'm glad I did.

Greg Brady and Supriya Dwivedi are excellent hosts. The Morning Show is informative and entertaining. Wide ranging topics: current events, news, sports, politics. Greg Brady has a solid perspective and is knowledgable. Good guests.

    Give it a try.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

640-360 - Artificial Intelligence
Q: What are you worried about that AI will do?
The guest discusses concerns that AI could outpace governance, affect professional work, and raise privacy and safety issues, while acknowledging potential benefits in healthcare and education. He emphasizes the need for guardrails and maintaining human expertise alongside automation.
Inside Netflix’s The Crash
Q: Is there anything missing that's more of the story that we don't know for those of us who've seen it?
Troy suggests that while the documentary includes interviews with Mackenzie's friends, it may still underplay some of the broader evidence and complexities that viewers should consider, and he points to how courtroom evidence and existing case details shape the narrative.
Hockey, Head Trauma, and Claude Lemieux
Q: This is obviously interesting information that the family is going to donate Claude Lemieux's brain to science. What do researchers hope to find and how can it help living players, Chris?
Researchers hope to identify abnormalities or disease markers in Lemieux's brain that could illuminate how CTE develops, progress, and presents clinically, with the ultimate goal of diagnosing it earlier in life and guiding prevention and treatment strategies for current and future players.
The Numbers Behind Canada's Recession Fears
Q: Can the provinces do anything to stimulate Ontario's economy right now, beyond federal measures?
Eric Kam outlines that reducing non-essential taxes on new capital spending, increasing business investment, and creating regulatory certainty can help, along with encouraging competition and boosting AI-related investment; he stresses the need for attracting outside money and investment in the province.
Tensions on the Picket Line
Q: What happened at the hospital entrance during the picket line and how did it unfold for your family?
A relative and others were blocked at the hospital entrance by protesters, causing fear and confusion; the host and guest discuss the sequence, the lack of empathy shown by some on the line, and the role of police in resolving the situation.
