  • Very interesting

I never thought I’d listen to a podcast that discusses military strategy, but there’s a lot of things I do and believe after Oct 7 2023, that I never could have imagined!

I learn a lot from every episode and I am thrilled that I found this show- I discovered it because John Spencer appeared as a guest and I try and listen to many of his interviews. Would love to hear him again on the show.

I do enjoy when Benjamin and Yaakov discuss and sometimes disagree- both are so well informed and their ... more

  • Thoughtful, insightful, and challenging

Benjamin brings a level of analysis, thought, and insight to the discussion of Israeli policy and action that is too often found lacking. His sincere desire to seek and speak the truth regarding Israel, the domestic and international policy arena, and the role that Israel plays for today and the future is evident. I trust you will be challenged, as I am, to listen, consider, and then take action in your sphere of influence. Thank you Benjamin, Yaakov, and the MirYam Institute for all you continu... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

BRIEFING: CAMPAIGN AGAINST IRAN TO RESUME? | ISRAEL'S UNRESOLVED FRONTS
Q: What is your read on the potential for a no-man's zone or buffer in southern Lebanon, given Hezbollah's capabilities and Lebanese political realities?
Ruth argues a no-man's zone is a pragmatic but painful necessity to prevent mass casualties and maintain Israeli security, while acknowledging Lebanon's internal divisions and the political infeasibility of fully dismantling Hezbollah.
BRIEFING: CAMPAIGN AGAINST IRAN TO RESUME? | ISRAEL'S UNRESOLVED FRONTS
Q: Do you agree or disagree with the assessment that the United States can and should take a more decisive stand against Iran if negotiations stall?
Ruth suggests that while decisive action is needed, the decision must balance intelligence assessments, public opinion, and regional instability, and she emphasizes understanding Iran's ideological drivers rather than relying on Western negotiation habits alone.
SITUATIONAL BRIEFING: IS ISRAEL SAFER TODAY?
Q: Is Israel safer today across all fronts than it was on October 6, 2023?
Yes, the guest argues, based on degraded Iranian proxies, strengthened air defenses, and a more capable alliance with the United States that together reduce the likelihood and scale of threats compared to pre-October 7.
OPINIONATED, EP5: J-STREET CEO & BORIS SHTONDA
Q: When the former leader of Hamas... was he saying that because he was pursuing some sort of peaceful outcome?
Jeremy confirms that Hamas is an enemy, but emphasizes the importance of providing hope to the Palestinian people in overcoming the conflict.
OPINIONATED, EP5: J-STREET CEO & BORIS SHTONDA
Q: Knowing now all that you've gone through and had to go through in order to recover, would you still elect to serve in that conflict, in that war against Hamas?
Boris asserts he would serve again without hesitation, affirming his commitment to Israel's future.
