Reviews

  • Very helpful content

This podcast is thought provoking and covers a wide variety of topics related to self reflection and self improvement. I love the analogies and practical advice, and I have listened to many episodes multiple times. My only complaint is that the ads are loud and interrupt the speaker mid sentence, rather than playing at a natural pause place. It completely disrupts the messaging.

Ep.2656 ~ How do You Know If You Are Being Used and What To Do About It - Mel Robbins Podcast Clips
Q: Hey, Mel, it's Crystal, and I have a big question. How to know if you're being used? I have two adult siblings that have always lived with me.
Crystal is in a situation where her family is used to the status quo, so the key is to set clear boundaries and create tangible, achievable steps (SMART goals) for everyone, while reframing the dynamic as a growth opportunity rather than blame. The goal is to move from caregiver to coach, with concrete tasks and regular accountability, and to recognize when change requires her taking the lead and setting expectations.
Ep.2657 ~ How To REPROGRAM Your Mind If You Grew Up With A Toxic parents - Mel Robbins Podcast Clips
Q: So like, how does one turn out that voice that's been programmed into our head, telling us that our needs or emotions don't matter, and we must cater to theirs?
You don't turn it off; you lay a new soundtrack. Name the voice, talk back to it, and replace the default programming with a new belief such as 'I deserve to be happy.' The process involves recognizing the source, setting boundaries, and consistently affirming your own needs.
Ep.2651 ~ Ways to Stop Your Constant Anxiety From Spiraling Out Of Control - Mel Robbins Podcast Clips
Q: Is there another way to stop the spinning thoughts beyond the five-second rule?
Breathing, awareness of bodily signals, and moving the body are emphasized as highly effective ways to break the cycle, with the five-second rule serving as an accessible trigger to start that process.
Ep.2658 ~ 4 Ways to Change Your Psychology About Money While Being Overwhelmed - Mel Robbins Podcast Clips
Q: How can someone begin moving from a defensive mindset to an offensive one with debt?
Begin by setting a realistic, immediate target (like saving a small amount monthly), then document and focus on those four numbers to reveal where funds can be redirected and where spending can be comfortable.
Ep.2658 ~ 4 Ways to Change Your Psychology About Money While Being Overwhelmed - Mel Robbins Podcast Clips
Q: What are the four numbers we should know to start taking control of our money?
The four numbers are fixed costs, automatic savings, investments, and guilt-free spending—the four pillars of the conscious spending plan that replace the need for a traditional budget.
