  • Original perspectives galour

I’m not really one for lots of general talk about AI but The MAP made for a freshing change, with some informed perspectives and actionable takeouts, it’s well worth giving it a listen. Also the main host Hal has one of those brilliant radio voices, making it a very easy listen.

Alex Brown: Surviving the GEO Shockwave
Q: What role do chatbots play in this new landscape?
Chatbots should be trained on your own content to answer user questions throughout the customer journey, with a focus on retaining provenance and offering responses that are up-to-date and contextually relevant. They're not just a gimmick; they can reduce friction and improve customer experience while driving traffic back to your site.
Alex Brown: Surviving the GEO Shockwave
Q: How should a business adapt content strategy in this GEO era?
Prioritize evergreen, high-quality content and use proprietary data to create truly original insights. Build a vectorized content base and a retrieval system (RAG) that drives users to your site for deeper engagement, beyond what the AI summary offers.
Alex Brown: Surviving the GEO Shockwave
Q: What are the main shifts AI overviews are causing for marketers and publishers?
AI overviews are changing how visibility works in search by delivering direct answers, which can increase impression counts but reduce click-throughs. Marketers should treat search more as a branding channel and focus on creating evergreen, proprietary content and data to sustain engagement.
Philip Marshall: The Coming Creative Renaissance - how AI can unlock creativity and beat mediocrity
Q: What advice would you give to a young creative feeling disillusioned by the current state of the industry?
Believe in your originality and emotional depth; learn to use AI tools, but keep questioning and pushing boundaries, because great times lie ahead for those who combine technical skills with bold, authentic ideas.
Philip Marshall: The Coming Creative Renaissance - how AI can unlock creativity and beat mediocrity
Q: What now do we need to relearn or innovate in briefing creatives for the AI age?
We need to move away from purely functional requirements and embrace briefs that prioritize emotional journeys, brand heritage, and authentic storytelling, while rethinking how AI can support rather than replace human creativity in the briefing and execution process.
