The hosts seem kinda dumb, but they’re usually funny & these are some of the best songs, so I GOTTA listen.
Nice idea for a podcast but never really gets past the idea that every song is Stephin merritt singing as stephin Merritt. A bit more of a ‘death of the author’ reading would lead to a much more interesting convo and also give Merritt the merit due. Meh!
very fun podcast. i like the album (at least parts of it, some songs r very...... like That). thanks
So i jus started listening to this podcast yesterday because i'm bored at home during the quarantine and now i'm on the tenth episode. I usually don't like podcasts. Sometimes at night i'm too restless to sleep but too tired to actually do anything so sitting and listening to Ben and Sarah is a vibe. I was honestly kind of surprised that a podcast like this about the magnetic fields exists, because the magnetic fields aren't really like frank ocean or grimes or a lot of the other musicians I lik... more
Love this podcast! I’m hearing these songs in a whole new way. The back and forth between Ben & Sarah is fun and sweet and I appreciate their chemistry when walking us through each song. I look forward to try he on air “research”, the descriptive words, the “yeah of yeah” additional songs by other artists and of course, the rankings! Here’s to that good cornbread love!
I’ve never heard of this album or band before, but these hosts get me so pumped for the music every single episode. They have such a relatable enthusiasm for music, and I thoroughly enjoy hearing them discuss it. Such a lovable, entertaining duo!
