  • Wonderful Podcast

I really enjoy both the audio book and discussion episodes for each magic story. I would love it if we could get older stories in between new sets as well!

  • Recaps vs Audiobooks

Natalie and Harless do an excellent job covering the story content of Magic.

The Phyrexian arc and shortly after, doing all of the story recaps, where the girls were telling their perspectives and flavor using some excerpts from the actual story, was excellent.

Starting with Murders at Karlov Manor, the format changed to tell the audio story and then gave the recap, was pretty good. The recaps used more story quotes and were less origin... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Edge of Eternities | #146: The Story of Haliya, Ascendant Cadet
Q: Why do you love to destroy the hearts of your readers by leaving these cliffhangers between one episode and the next?
Roy admits the cliffhanger was mean but notes that they had established timeline rewriting, assuming the audience would keep up with it.
Edge of Eternities | #146: The Story of Haliya, Ascendant Cadet
Q: Roy, I'm curious how this focus on choice and audience interaction plays into the overall narrative of Edge of Eternities?
Roy explains how the idea of choice and interactive elements emerged during the writing process with Seth Dickinson, influencing both the plot and character journeys.
Edge of Eternities | #129: Going Galactic with Laurel Pratt
Q: What about the Summists?
They are expansionists who combat black holes and aim to reignite them into stars, claiming to put more into existence than they take away.
Edge of Eternities | #129: Going Galactic with Laurel Pratt
Q: What can you tell us about the Monoists?
They describe themselves as an entropic death cult that embraces fatalism, believing in a mythic afterlife within black holes.
Aetherdrift | #114: The Story of Aetherdrift with Roy Graham
Q: Roy, when you are working on a brand new character with Kira or any other author, how do you go about developing them?
This is usually about creating a fertile space for a writer to work in rather than giving a dictate that they have to follow. I felt pretty comfortable giving her a prompt for Sita, letting the author take it from there in terms of voice and interiority.
