“The New Heavens and New Earth” LW Searching Scripture, November 2025: Isaiah 65-66
Q: How do we have a guarantee from God that we are already part of the new creation?
By baptism and faith, we are made new creations, but we also anticipate the future fulfillment of this promise.
“The New Heavens and New Earth” LW Searching Scripture, November 2025: Isaiah 65-66
Q: What calling and warning does Jesus give in Mark 9, verses 42 through 48?
Jesus emphasizes the seriousness of sin and the fate of those who lead others astray, referring directly to Isaiah 66.
“The New Heavens and New Earth” LW Searching Scripture, November 2025: Isaiah 65-66
Q: Why might it make sense or why might it not to take Isaiah 65, 17 through 19 as a reference to the eternal and perfect church in heaven and 65, 20 through 25 as a description of life in the church on earth?
Some elements seem fulfilled in heaven, while others refer to life on earth, blending both perspectives.
“Do Lutherans Do Allegory?” LW Searching Scripture, October 2025: Genesis and Galatians
Q: Do you think that you want your pastor on a regular basis to be taking these Old Testament texts and coming up with rather sophisticated spiritual interpretations of them?
Most prefer clarity over complexity in scripture interpretation, aligning with Lutheran values.
Nominations with the Synod Secretary
Q: What should someone be looking for when nominating someone for a board position?
They're looking for solid Christian persons with a good understanding of the faith and adult abilities to operate in the faith.
