  • Delightful! Give a listen.

I really enjoy this podcast. The hosts have an easy camaraderie, are fun to listen to and have an obvious affection for Narnia. They discuss the chapter of each book for just the right amount of time and leave you wanting more rather than endlessly digressing.

  • Fantastic episode!

I work with children, and I desire for them to have the love of reading. This episode gives me ideas on how I can encourage students to engage in stories and to help them read books that they may not pick up for themselves otherwise.

Thank you, guys! I love all of your episodes.

  • Enneagram folly

I was so enjoying this podcast until the fascination with the enneagram came up. For self proclaiming Christians to promote a “New Age” practice destroys all credibility and ultimately can lead astray those looking for truth in a web of deceit. Please listen to the Cultish Podcasts episode on the enneagram to understand it’s dark past which is leading far to many Christians away from God's calling in our lives. I was hoping to finish all seven books, but I can’t support you anymore.

I stumbled upon this podcast when I was trying to find something that would help me understand the parallels of the Narnia books with the gospel. This podcast far exceeded my expectations! I recommend it to all of my friends!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Illustrating the Inklings (w/ John Hendrix)
Q: What do you think is the best way for someone to purchase your work?
John suggests supporting local bookstores as they are a vital connection to publishers, although he recognizes that buying from larger retailers like Amazon is also valid.
Illustrating the Inklings (w/ John Hendrix)
Q: What were some of the challenges you faced in illustrating the Inklings?
The challenge with illustrating the Inklings was that their activities were mostly discussions rather than exciting visual events, so John used creative devices to visualize their conversations without straying into fan fiction.
Illustrating the Inklings (w/ John Hendrix)
Q: How did you arrive at the decision to create a graphic novel?
John decided to create a graphic novel because he believes any story gets better with pictures and that graphic novels can convey a kind of gestalt, combining words and images effectively to tell complex stories.
The Saintly CS Lewis (Reading Day 2024)
Q: Could you help us understand why we have some people like St. Augustine and then we get to Lewis, and no one's going around calling him St. C.S. Lewis?
In the Anglican tradition, we tend to commemorate rather than venerate, which is a more formalized process found in Roman Catholicism, hence the lack of the title 'Saint' for more modern figures like Lewis.
The Saintly CS Lewis (Reading Day 2024)
Q: What are Saints? What is this idea? When did Christians start remembering them?
Saints are remembered as those who lived lives of holiness and some who were martyred for their faith. The practice of remembering them began in the early church.
