  • news lite

You’re starting to get news lite. An entire segment on a few bros loudly arguing at DOD? Laughing hysterically about Noem shooting her daughter’s puppy in the face? The result is the hosts becoming as petty or callous as the news stories they choose and the way they cover them. Need more substance so no longer following.

  • Excellent content and analysis; Cringey speech habits.

Heard Josh on the MeidasTouch podcast this week and was impressed, so I’m listening to the JM Podcast for the first time. Great insights on politics. But the thing that really bugs me is when you speak (and mostly Kate) keeps saying “Right?” After many statements. It sounds stupid and juvenile. It makes me cringe. You’re probably thinking, “Well that’s petty.” May... more

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Emergency Virginia Pod
Q: What is the broader political takeaway if these maps are upheld or overturned?
The broader lesson is that court-led redistricting battles can reshape the political landscape for years, underscoring the importance of court reform and the urgency of sustaining a long-term strategy beyond a single election cycle.
Emergency Virginia Pod
Q: How does the Ohio example factor into the Virginia discussion?
Ohio demonstrates how a state Supreme Court can be sidelined by politics when a federal or state-level court system steps in, underscoring the asymmetric risks and the potential for undermining state court authority.
Emergency Virginia Pod
Q: What are the immediate options Democrats have in Virginia after this ruling?
Democrats may attempt to push a new map via a blue-leaning legislature in a state with a court favorable to their position, potentially exploring other states with smoother paths, though the timeline is very tight and legal challenges loom.
Minneapolis Is Winning The Battle
Q: What was your sense of why this incident created such a strong response?
The incident seems to resonate particularly because it involved a highly sympathetic victim caught in a violent situation, especially compared to previous cases that have evoked less outrage.
The TPM Social Club: Breaking Containment
Q: What has changed regarding the acceptance of conspiracy theories in politics?
The barrier was breached by the first Trump administration, acknowledging QAnon and using its motivating impulses.
