Guest: Dan Flores. Aristocratic "safari" hunters massacred wildlife for sport, while early conservation efforts by figures like Roosevelt often focused on preserving game populations specifically for future hunting.
1911 ALASKA
Guest: Dan Flores. Flores critiques 19th-century explorers, noting how Lewis and Clark needlessly slaughtered grizzlies and how Audubon, though later regretful, killed birds to capture their likenesses.
1873 VULTURE BISON

I have expanded my knowledge and interests through John and his wide-ranging intellect. Every young person in America should be required to listen to John, if only to be exposed to good vocabulary not often found elsewhere in contemporary media. He is delightful, literate and fair minded, a true gentleman and a joy to listen to.
John is a master of long format journalism. However, he is no longer able to practice his expertise because since his migration to the CBS chop shop his format has been splintered to make it unrecognizable. Hopefully, new management at the network will shut down the chop shop and let John do what he does best.
I have listened for years and learned a lot. I am a professional meteorologist and have learned many issues with the climate change people especially the ones from Europe. But the reason for this review is John Hardie’s audio. I can hear every other guest just fine. But I think John Hardie’s microphone is on speaker phone. There seems to be a faint echo when he is on air. Or his internet connection is poor. I hope you never retire John Batchelor!
Can’t figure out what order to listen in. There’s no logic to how these randomized segments are structured
I miss John’s selection of intro music. CBS standardized show too much - need to bring back a few more of your former rebellious guests. John really struggles with TDS and the new approach to foreign policy.
