  • Fantastic podcast

Just found this podcast. My husband and I grew up in Irish families in Willesden and Harlesden in the 70/80s. We’ve laughed so much and so much has resonated with us. Thank you so much!

  • Brilliant Nostalgia

Very funny stuff from three very witty men. Bringing back lots of great childhood memories from driving to Ireland in the holidays to swapping where to go to Mass on Saturday based on how fast the priest finished it. St Pats in Neasden/Stonebridge was almost a drive through Mass it was that rapid!

  • Very authentic and funny

These guys are the real deal. As an Irish expat living in Sydney Australia for the past 25 years, I can connect and relate to these guys so well. They were recently talking about how some Irish people had difficulties accepting the fact that they had English accents (they are all second generation Irish who grew up in England), but I can assure you, as an Irish man, these guys are absolutely Irish in every way. In fact, the next time I travel to Europe via London, I will reach out to them so we ... more

  • Tears..

Just finished the 3rd episode and it had me in tears laughing. Quick with the wit, the insults and micky taking out of each other.

The Nelson Mandela and Morgan Freeman take offs are brilliant.

A great mix to the episodes.

What a great bunch of ‘Langars’.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ghosts of Our Past
Q: What was Shane MacGowan like as a performer, and how did Andy experience performing with him?
Shane was described as brilliant and incredibly capable live, able to deliver lyrics memorized from rough starts and even when not fully sober; his stage presence was massive, and Andy felt the moment of performing with him as a profound, almost transcendent experience.
Ballroom Boom with U2's Adam Clayton
Q: Adam, how has recording this documentary changed your view of the earlier Irish show band scene?
It broadened my understanding of the era's impact and clarified how the later post-show band movements grew from those roots.
