Previously to this, I’ve followed and listened to the Inquiry for over three years.
Very sad to see that this podcast has turned into hawkish Israeli propaganda.
Their latest episode-trying to manufacture consent for Israel to attack Lebanon with revisionist history, and downright lies.
Absolutely shameful. Your journalistic credibility has gone.
Research and fact-checking standards have declined so far as to make this podcast useless. For example, the episode for 27th June 2024 claimed that AI consumes 8-10% of global energy, this is clearly nonsense, best estimates say that datacentres consume around 1-2% of global electricity (not energy) and AI will consume a subset of that.
Come on BBC, you're better than this.
The inquiry has good interviews but often is too agenda driven. For instance, the ‘Can Europe reverse its falling fertility rates?’ was missing any mention of abortion rates. This is not an honest look at the story if you will not deal with the whole issue. Typically, the BBC agenda is not in what they report but often what they omit from the story.
Very Interesting stories
The inquiry has a nice format. In a short time it covers the bases of an issue.
I do have a concern about the migraine drug episode.... because the premise smacks of a subject that was suggested by a share- holders of a drug company.
Migraines are common and miserable. But of all the complex topics in the world that need explaining (or at least context) to we in the dim harried masses, the market introduction of a new expensive med should be low on the list.
