  • Disappointed by who is centred in conversation

There is an episode on Cyprus that fails to interview a Greek Cypriot (but interviews a Greek and a Turkish Cypriot first). That’s just one example of the bias that is leeching into this podcast. Numerous episodes centre certain voices over others and fail to meet basic journalistic standards. I’m a big fan of the layout of this podcast and much of the content, but more effort should be made to ensure accuracy, fairness, balance and impartiality.

  • Superficial. Pointless.

Not sure why the BBC persists with this programme. The last episode on “climate change / migration” was just a joke. No analysis. So called “experts” talking out of their nether regions and was as useful as a hole in the head. If you cannot produce an accurate, analytical, and reliable “inquiry” (yes, the clue is in the title), don’t bother. Save the licence fee payer some money!

  • Cringe

Wow, BBC is so incredibly out of touch, it’s embarrassing. So now we’re implying that conservatives in Japan, who you know absolutely nothing about, must be homophobic, sexist, conspiracy theorists just because they vote differently? There’s nothing wrong with being a conservative voter. Your country is full of them, open your eyes! Sadly, this isn’t surprising in the least, it is however hilarious that your “inclusive” and “non-racist” virtue signaling goes out the window as soon as someone ide... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

What is the future of the European Union?
Q: Is there any criticism within the European Union that the money for Ukraine should have been invested within the EU?
Most European leaders and citizens view Ukraine's support as part of a shared, Western-aligned defense effort, making a bloc-wide objection unlikely, even though some debate about allocation and long-term benefits persists.
Should we mine the Moon?
Q: So back to our question, should we mine the moon?
The discussion weighs vast resource potential against the risk to scientific heritage and the current lack of comprehensive international governance. While lunar mining could unlock energy and materials, experts argue for cautious progress, strong governance frameworks, and protection of key lunar sites before any large-scale exploitation.
Are countries really running out of jet fuel?
Q: What is the fundamental driver behind jet fuel risk right now?
The risk comes from disrupted distribution and supply chain constraints, not just physical reserves, which leads to price volatility and potential shortages in access.
Is the revolution in Cuba over?
Q: So how does all of this end?
The discussion suggests there is no single, clear endpoint; some experts anticipate a gradual opening of the economic system with continued political rigidity, while others warn that coordinated external pressure and internal reform could still reshape the trajectory, but a definitive regime change remains uncertain.
How can rewilding help combat climate change?
Q: To what extent then do you think that Rewilding can help to mitigate the effects of climate change?
While rewilding can contribute to carbon sequestration, biodiversity recovery, and ecosystem resilience, it cannot replace emissions reductions; its impact depends on scale, governance, and integration with broader conservation and climate strategies.
