  • great motivation for health tech founders

Discovered this podcast after hearing Dr Somauroo on the Big Picture Medicine podcast. Loved his advice for healthcare entrepreneurs on finding problems in the hospital to tackle and how he got started fixing printers for his colleagues. As a former software engineer and indie hacker doc we’re hoping to build something worth interviewing sometime. Great interviews and guests!

#438: Does design matter more than tech in healthcare?
Q: Aide Health, the company, what inspired its founding and the initial focus on adherence to medication?
The founder had personal experience with asthma and saw the gap in how results were communicated back to clinicians; he built a simple Excel-based tool to track adherence, sleep, diet, and symptoms, which demonstrated potential and inspired the formal start of Aide to improve adherence across therapies with a broader platform.
#436 Lessons from a healthcare investor with T.N. Giridhar from SSG capital
Q: What makes an investor successful in healthcare startups?
A combination of deep people insight, disciplined execution, and ongoing, multi-level engagement with the company; beyond capital, the investor provides guidance that helps scale and navigate cross-border expansion.
#434 Vocal biomarkers: Detecting the unspoken with Kang Hsu from Canary Speech
Q: What are some principles for getting healthcare professionals to adopt new technologies?
He emphasizes reducing the burden on clinicians and integrating technology seamlessly into their workflow.
#434 Vocal biomarkers: Detecting the unspoken with Kang Hsu from Canary Speech
Q: How did you start in health tech?
Khang discusses starting as an internal medicine physician and evolving into health informatics after helping implement electronic health records.
#433: Skin+Me Founder, James Mishreki on consumer healthtech & how to get to £37M revenue
Q: What changed that made you step down as CEO?
I realized that while I'm good at early-stage leadership, I'm not the best long-term operational leader, so I transitioned to chairing while my co-founder took over as CEO.
