  • Excellent podcasting

I have enjoyed Hillsdale Online Courses for nigh on a decade. I really enjoy the podcasts as I am able to multitask while listening. The online works, also, but I cannot multitask because I have to do subject matter tests. The programs on Marxism, socialism and Communism, as well as the Totalitarian Novels, are must listen!

  • Capitalism

Great content, overpowering music not sure I can hang in there for all of it. It’s a little Bit irritating it takes away from the content itself.

Constitution 101: The Progressive Rejection of the Founding
Q: What are its core ideas?
Progressivism seeks to move beyond the founders' framework by enlarging the national government to address modern social and economic problems, embracing historical contingency, and trusting experts and institutions to manage policy in ways that aim for greater equality and efficiency, even at the cost of strict adherence to natural rights principles.
American Foreign Policy: Retrench or Expand?
Q: What were the implications of the 9/11 attacks on American foreign policy?
The attacks settled the debate between those favoring a restraining foreign policy versus those advocating for a more interventionist approach, leading to a shift in U.S. policy towards greater involvement.
American Foreign Policy: Retrench or Expand?
Q: What should America do now in the post-Cold War era?
The episode discusses two camps: one advocating a return to historical American practice with reduced overseas commitments and another supporting the maintenance of America's global leadership position.
The Federalist: The Courts and the Bill of Rights
Q: How are our rights protected by the courts?
Rights are protected through the courts by allowing citizens to challenge governmental actions that violate the Constitution, a process referred to as judicial review.
Totalitarian Novels: Loyalty and Confession in Darkness at Noon
Q: Is Rubashov correct in believing that the end justifies the means?
He believes the party's justification for actions is flawed as both the end and the means are misaligned.
