  • Minnesota Fraud WOW!

It is mind boggling how long this fraud has been going on and that it has been known locally for over a decade. Very thorough reporting. Thank you!

  • Maths can be fun and create purpose

Maths was the pain and horror of my childhood days at German Gymnasium. That may have been totally different if my teachers would have explained it the way Sam Clausen does at K12 center for teacher excellence.

I really enjoyed Sam Clausen’s October 2024 lecture on how to teach maths with explanations, questions, providing every day life context up to demonstrating in inherent answers and questions of logic, life, creation, world view and purpose in maths.

I have enjoyed listening. There was a man that told me “the truth is anything I tell you that you believe”. It really has caused a problem but I think most of your podcast are verifiably true.

Hot Diggedy Dog! Two of my favorites joining forces. I am absolutely ecstatic to get to hear these two in conversation and debate. They both are so very inspiring and insightful when it comes to the truth in constitutional law and individual civil liberties. I have been listening to their individual podcasts for many years. I have bought “The US Constitution”, A Reader from Hillsdale College and receive “The Imprimis”. Every podcast and piece of literature that Larry Arnn and Mark Levin w... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Kathleen O’Toole and Patrick Whalen on Physical Education
Q: What should a PE program look like in a strong classical curriculum?
It should be rigorous, coherent, and replicable, with a clear mission; emphasize functional fitness over rote sport literacy; and use movement as a foundation for broader learning and character development.
The Joy of Literary Analysis
Q: Could you say a little more about the short assignments you use and how they fit into building analytical skills?
Short, targeted exercises that focus on two core elements—two or three strong observations from a small excerpt and a clear, purposeful aim—help students practice analysis without being overwhelmed by long essays. The aim is to foster two things: moving beyond plot summary and developing a precise, demonstrable argument.
Margaret Handel, ’17: Water World
Q: What was the biggest challenge when starting the maritime career?
The biggest challenge was adjusting to the change in community and the loneliness of living independently in a new, demanding environment, which required deliberate cultivation of community and resilience.
Margaret Handel, ’17: Water World
Q: Tell me about the education at Great Lakes Maritime Academy and how it differed from Hillsdale.
Hillsdale prepared me with a rigorous liberal arts foundation, while the Academy focused on hard, skill-based training—navigation, engineering concepts, and concrete maritime protocols—creating a complementary balance between theory and practice.
Building Practical Solutions to Homelessness
Q: What role can local communities play versus federal approaches?
Community-driven efforts that convene every sector—government, EMS, hospitals, nonprofits, business, and volunteers—are essential for creating practical, scalable solutions tailored to local contexts.
