Like other listeners, I had to stop listening halfway through the first series due to the TERRIBLE Irish accent. If you can’t do the accent, DON’T DO THE ACCENT.
..but the theme song and the narrator are truly awful. I can easily zip past the intro, however, the narrator is interspersed throughout and impossible to avoid. He’s campy, obnoxious, over-the-top, and detracts from the podcast. The Alfie character is almost palatable in comparison.
I listened to all of season 1 and part of season 2, but I can’t continue on. I’d love to hear how the story plays out, but the narrator is just too annoying.
I agree with other reviewers that the acting is somewhat wooden, and the “mwahaha” narrator and opening song are awful. However, it is a great story and well written. Improves with time, and definitely worth a listen!
the narrator is ruining this for me. like shut up please 🙏 ahhhhhh come on
