  • Especially Helpful

My husband and I have listened to the podcast for approximately 8 years and eagerly await the next episode. Saturday Superfriends are especially entertaining and informative. We enjoyed today’s episode 3.21.26 so much we listened twice. The topic of praying to the saints had excellent explanations. Keep up the great variety!

  • A Must-Listen Podcast

I have been listening to the Heidelcast off and on for the past six years. For the last three or four, it has been in my regular rotation of podcasts. Dr. Clark provides solid theological and historical content that promotes and defends the reformed (i.e., biblical) perspective. He does so in an eirenic and whimsical manner. Listening to him is like listening to a classic radio DJ at times. Oh, and I need more cowbell!!!

I have a question for the guys on super friends Saturday. Do you think that the act of praying two the dead Saints for intercession, which is wrong ,is that actually the same thing as necromancy? I think that it is very similar ,if not the same. I’d love to hear what you guys think.

Here is a Particular Baptist, yes Dr. Clark a Baptist, who listens to and enjoys the Heidelcast and is encouraged and refreshed by the excellent content, even when I disagree (which isn’t often) :-)

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Heidelcast: Superfriends Saturday: The Error of Sandemanianism
Q: Would you please discuss the error of Sandamanianism?
The guests explain that Sandamanianism prioritizes intellectual assent and redefines faith in a way that can downplay personal trust in Christ, while acknowledging that genuine faith should produce fruits and life change; the concern is to preserve justification by faith while avoiding reduction of faith to mere cognition.
Superfriends Saturday: "Be Fruitful and Multiply" - How Does this Command Apply to Families Who Cannot Naturally Have Children?
Q: How can we fulfill both the command to be fruitful and multiply and the Great Commission in families unable to have children?
Adoption is a crucial avenue through which couples can fulfill both commands, contributing positively to the church community and embracing children in need of families.
Heidelcast: Gracious Ministry with Mike Abendroth
Q: What difference have you seen in your congregations since they've sort of gone with you on this journey?
I see is an encouraged congregation. I love it when they come up to me afterwards and say, you know what, I was very encouraged today.
Heidelcast: Superfriends Saturday: The Relationship of "Historical Theologian" to the Offices of the Church
Q: What is the relationship between the historical theologian and the offices of the church?
The historical theologian does not automatically have ecclesiastical authority unless they are ordained, regardless of their academic qualifications.
Heidelcast: Missions: with Chad Vegas and Chris Gordon
Q: Can you give us a synopsis of what you said to the students about evangelism, witness, and so forth?
Chad discussed the importance of the pastor's life in evangelism, the role of the church in making Christ known globally, and provided an overview of Thomas Boston's 'Fishes of Men'.
